World Suicide Prevention Day Event

Cape Cod Community College will host a Suicide Prevention Summit September 16th, 2022.

This in-person event will be at Cape Cod Community College and feature presentations that address the issue of suicide in our community and creating college, school, and community partnerships.

Plenary Speaker, Dr. Maura Weir is the Director of Wellness & Counseling at Cape Cod Community College and Suicidologist.

Speaker and Author of "This is How It Feels" -a memoir of attempting suicide and finding life.

Community Walk in Buzzards Bay

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

Location: Buzzard Bay Park - Bourne, MA
Check-in/Registration Time: 9:00 am
Event Begins: 10:00 am

Join us, in-person for a visual ceremony outside where we will honor those that struggle with suicidal thoughts, mental health concerns and substance misuse by placing ribbons in the courtyard.

Cape & Islands Suicide Prevention Coalition General Membership Meeting will immediately follow.

All are welcome.  This event is free and open to the public.
